What to Expect at Church

The things we do in a typical Sunday morning church service:

When you come to our church you will be greeted by one or two people who are waiting to welcome you into the building.

Welcome cup of coffee

On a Sunday morning we have a cup of coffee before the service begins, to allow people to get the ‘feel’ of the church and have the opportunity for us to say ‘hello’ to you.

Singing, prayer, Bible reading and message:

We usually sing some worship songs and the words are available either from a song book or displayed on the big screen at the front of the church.

We pray together at various points in the service, normally led by one person, but others join in silently. There is a collection for those who would like to give – but that is your choice; there is no pressure or obligation.

The Bibles in the Church are the ‘New International Version’, but everyone is free to use whatever version they feel is best for them.

There is a Bible message by the person leading, which is usually illustrated on the big screen.

The Lord’s Supper:

This Do In Remembrance Of Me

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper (or Communion) every Sunday alternating between morning and evening. This part of the service is simply about remembering Jesus as he died on the cross for all who put their trust in him.

Sharing the bread and wine is open to everyone who knows Jesus Christ as their Saviour, but everyone is welcome to stay.

Sunday Kids Club:

Woman Reading To Six Children

The children in the church usually go upstairs for Sunday Kids Club during the main message where there is a Bible story and activities especially for their age range.

All the Youth workers have been checked for this work by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
